Privacy Policy
Advantage Players ("we", "us", "our") builds an AI-powered desktop tool for card game players. This policy explains — in plain language — what data we collect, why we collect it, how we protect it and your rights over it.
1. Data we collect
We only collect the minimum needed to run your account and improve the product:
- Account data: email address, hashed password, subscription state, chosen language.
- Billing data: handled entirely by our payment processor (Stripe / Paddle). We never see or store your full card number.
- Diagnostic data: anonymized crash logs and app version (opt-out available in Settings).
- Support correspondence: emails you send us and our replies, retained for 24 months.
2. What we do NOT collect
We are deliberately privacy-first. The following data never leaves your device:
- Screenshots of your poker table
- Your hole cards, board cards or tracked-discard state
- The name of the poker room you play on
- Your hand history, bankroll, results or opponent notes
The AI vision model that reads your cards runs 100% locally. There is no cloud round-trip during gameplay.
3. Legal basis (GDPR / UK GDPR)
We process personal data under the following bases: (a) performance of the subscription contract with you, (b) our legitimate interest in improving the product and preventing fraud, and (c) your consent for optional analytics.
4. Cookies and analytics
Our website uses strictly-necessary cookies to keep you logged in and remember your consent choice. With your consent we also use privacy-respecting analytics (Plausible) to understand which pages help players most. No third-party ad trackers, ever.
5. Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the sub-processors required to operate:
- Stripe & Paddle — payments
- Amazon Web Services (EU-Ireland region) — hosting
- Postmark — transactional emails
We may also disclose data if legally compelled by a court order in the jurisdiction where we operate.
6. Data retention
Account and billing data are retained while your subscription is active and for 24 months after cancellation (to satisfy tax obligations). You may request earlier deletion at any time — see below.
7. Your rights
Under GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA and comparable laws you have the right to access, correct, export, restrict processing of, or delete your personal data — as well as the right to withdraw analytics consent. Email privacy@advantage-players.com and we'll respond within 30 days.
8. Security
We use TLS 1.3 for all data in transit and AES-256 at rest. Passwords are hashed with Argon2id. Access to production systems is limited to a small on-call team and audited.
9. International transfers
Our infrastructure is located in the European Union. If a sub-processor operates outside the EEA/UK, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses to keep protections consistent.
10. Children
Advantage Players is intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
11. Changes to this policy
When we make material changes we'll notify subscribers by email at least 14 days before they take effect. The current version is always available at advantage-players.com/privacy.
